It has been a bit quiet on the blog lately. That’s because I’ve been locked away in my “bat cave” working on a brand new game. I’ll be announcing the game in mid-March 2017 and I can’t wait.
I’ve been working on this new title since around June 2016. It’s an economic simulator just like Big Pharma, but it focuses on a completely different type of business.
One of things I’m really excited about is that this game has a much larger “human” component than the last game. There’ll still be a certain amount of laying down of static objects and logistical planning, but there will also be simulated people involved in the game.
What’s really exciting about this is the challenge that comes with controlling/influencing them. With machines you can just directly tell them what to do, but in this game, there are a lot of indirect control systems which I think give it a lot of depth and the potential for surprise moments.
Other neat facts about the game:
- It’s got a stylised 3D art style.
- It’s will be highly moddable.
- I’m currently aiming for a release in early 2018, but I’ll be taking it to UK gaming shows where people will be able to try the game out.
- Once I’ve announced, I will be restarting my long-running development vlog series, hopefully giving people that are interested a real insight into how the game is made.
All that is left to say is I can’t wait to announce the game next month. Thanks for reading!
